EGDI mentioned in a report from the European Parliament

Big news this week for EuroGeoSurveys, GSEU - Geological Service for Europe, EGDI and primarily geothermal energy.

The need of high quality subsurface data is more and more widely recognize as a key aspect to accelerate energy transition.

It was overwhelmingly approved a report recognizing the vast potential of geothermal energy. And in relation to Data Availability, the report "Stresses that in areas with insufficient subsurface data, governments can play a role in funding geothermal resource mapping and exploratory drilling; [...]; calls on the European Commission to continue supporting this data collection through relevant projects, such as European Geological Data Infrastructure (EGDI), which aims to create a EU-wide atlas of geothermal resources".
